A man from Charleston, South Carolina, who was 43 years old, was identified as the victim of a shooting that took place on Wadmalaw Island early on Saturday morning. Bobbi Jo O’Neal, the coroner for Charleston County, stated on Sunday that John Ladson passed away from a gunshot wound at approximately three in the morning on Saturday day at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The investigation into the incident is being led by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at this time. Around two in the morning, deputies rushed to the 5300 block of Maybank Highway in response to reports of a gunshot. Ladson was pronounced dead at the scene. When law enforcement officials found Ladson, they took him to the Medical University of South Carolina.
It was reported by the deputies that there was no known threat to the community.
